As most of you know, Shawn and I do not have children of our own (yet), at least not of the human variety. So our pets; Harley, Katie, Alexis (our wonderful Rottweilers), are asking you for your support to help bring an Off-Leash Dog Park to our great city of Frisco, Texas. This is a cause that is very close to our hearts, and would really appreciate your support.
Shawn and I are both very active with the Frisco Dog Park Organization activities and fund raisers, and we’ve got one coming up that we feel caters to a wide range of the people from a few different factions of our society. And to give credit where credit is due, it was Shawn who came up with this idea originally, so this definitively proves that she is the brains of our family!
I am proud to announce the Frisco Dog Park Poker Tournament! The tournament will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009, and will start at 1:00 PM. All proceeds, excluding operating expenses for the tournament, will go directly to the Frisco Dog Park Organization so that we can bring an off-leash dog park to the City of Frisco. There are those of you that don’t play poker… there are those of you that don’t have dogs … That’s okay, this tournament is geared for both groups! If you play poker, then needless to say this is right up your alley. If you don’t, but have dogs, then this is something that you will enjoy as well. We need your help and will not exclude anyone wishing to play and/or donate to this cause. And, as well are all aware, word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising that we have, so please feel free to pass this information along to your friends, family and coworkers!

Uncategorized Yep, sure did, but this time it was in a live game (opposed to online poker).
I had the Jack of hearts under, the flop came Ah, Kh, 9c… turn was Qh, so now I’ve got 4 cards to the Royal Flush, so there’s no bet that is going to get me off of my hand — if they push, I call… if I lose, then I lose, but I’m not folding a Royal Flush draw. And then… ahhh yes… the river is the 10h which completes the big hand for Kid Cruson! WOO HOO! Poor thing, she never saw it coming.

Uncategorized I found out yesterday that I have Type 2 Diabetes… bummer.
I have a myriad of emotions about it right now — angry, scared, confused, overwhelmed, disbelief, worried… so I really don’t have any kind of an opinion to give right now until I learn more from my doctor on what changes are in store for me.
I do know that this is the bottom of the barrell that I have been looking/waiting for to motivate my fat ass to lose weight and take better care of myself. See, I grew up in an era that didn’t have the “Just Say NO!” campaign… we had the “alright… I’ll try one of those, and some of that, oh and some of those too… ” Time for a lifestyle change that will extend my life.

Uncategorized Silly fools, betting so heavy when there was an obvious Royal Flush draw on the board. They learned their lesson. It cost them all of their chips, but they learned — and I got almost $85k in chips + $25k extra for winning with it. HA!

Uncategorized I have no energy whatsoever. I’m not sleeping well at all — not enough sleep, and when I do sleep it is not restful sleep, so when I wake up I do not feel like I’ve been asleep. My appetite is all over the charts; I’m either ravenously hungry for all the wrong kinds of foods, or I feel hungry but cannot decide what I want, so I go without eating for hours on end.
At first I thought that this feeling of complete exhaustion was something that has come on recently, but after noodling on it for a moment I realized that I’ve felt this way for quite some time now — like months.
I don’t know what is wrong, but I am tired of feeling tired all the time. Like Wayne Campbell once said “I thought I had mono one year, but it turns out I was just really bored.” Well, I know that I don’t have mono (at least I think I know), so I’m wondering if it is boredom to an unprecedented degree. I would like to find out, but I don’t have the energy. I actually fell asleep at a stoplight the other day. How nice of that guy behind me to gently honk his horn to alert me of the green light… gently like dropping a piano from a 3rd story building.
